 The Legend... For every vampire in the world, there is a Slayer. The Slayer Code: Destroy all vampires with the obligatory aid of super strength, fighting ability and an acute and intense gift of timing-think of it as being bitten by a radioactive spider minus the leotard. Its not only vampires, however, that these warriors have chosen the responsibility to annihilate. They also have to time-out demons, monsters and just about every other kind of nasty that can come to mind. When a Slayer times a creature out, it doesnt entail making them stand in a corner. Usually, the end result is a heinously bloody slaughter, sometimes accompanied by one of todays hottest bands. With the aid of a Watcher-who trains and looks out for each Slayer-these superhuman do-gooders have been known mostly to lurk in the shadows alone, following their prey-the bloodsucking undead. As you can imagine, these heroes have an unhealthy expiration date,most dont live to see past 20. |

 The Town... Essentially ground zero for all things naughty, Sunnydale, California was built on top of an Indian Burial Ground no, wait, Hellmouth: a portal to a rotted dimension that just about every slag wants to unlock and unleash hell on Earth. Sunnydale is a small town two hours off the freeway from Neiman Marcus. To most people, it appears to be just like any other Californian suburban town. It is the kinda town where everybody knows everybody, where the neighbours are friendly and life is not frighteningly hectic. A small quiet town... A one Starbucks town... Very few know that behind its cheerful and bright facade, is an evil, dark secret. Sunnydale is the ultimate battleground between the forces of good and evil. It is the home of the Slayer. Sunnydale is a center of mystical energy, with the Hellmouth as its source. Yes, the Hellmouth is in Sunnydale. Quite literally the very mouth of Hell... And so, the creatures of darkness are all drawn to Sunnydale by that mystical energy. After the sun sets, Sunnydale becomes a nightmare for the living, a playground and feeding ground for the creatures of darkness. |

 The Slayer... The Slayer is a Warrior against the forces of evil. She is gifted with the strength and skill to hunt vampires, and demons, and the forces of darkness. Perhaps the first Slayer was activated to even the score between good and evil. Like the demons she hunts, the Slayer possesses incredible strength, speed, agility and healing ability. Not only that, but she has a natural flair for fighting and the handling of various weapons. The supernatural abilities of a Slayer only come to her when she is called, never before. And when she dies, those abilities are passed on to the next Slayer. And so, there is always only one Slayer in each generation. But when Buffy died at the hands of The Master, she was revived by Xander. B'coz she was technically dead for a few minutes, the next Slayer was activated, resulting in two Slayers in her generation. A phenomenon previously unheard of. After a Slayer is called, she is assigned a Watcher, who will train and guide her in her duties. When a Slayer is first called, she is untrained in the art of fighting. She may possess the strength and the ability, but she is unskilled. Under the guidance of her Watcher, she will develop her abilities and improve her fighting style. We have seen that happen with Buffy. When she slew her first vampire, it was basically a hit or miss staking, but with time and training, we saw her develop into the powerful and lethal fighter that she now is. A Slayer is also thought to possess the ability to sense the presence of vampires. B'coz a vampire looks like any other human until the feed is upon them, this skill may prove vital to a Slayer's survival. But we do know that this is not an easy skill to develop. When Buffy first arrived at Sunnydale, she did not possess this skill. Neither Kendra nor Faith possessed this skill either. Although Buffy seems to have developed an uncanny knack for sensing evil and danger, till today, it is still not revealed if she has mastered the ability to sense vampires.Another special ability that a Slayer possesses is prophetic dreams. A Slayer's dreams carry hidden warnings for the future. Sometimes they foretell the future, warning the Slayer of an evil force at work, sometimes they aid the Slayer in an upcoming battle. It would appear that every Slayer possesses this ability.The blood of a Slayer is said to be powerful and magickal. Vampires crave it b'coz it is powerful stuff. It gives them a exhilarating rush of powerLike the vampires, the older the Slayer gets, the more powerful she becomes. Perhaps it has something to do with the training she receives, or maybe her strength and abilities increases as she grow older, just like a vampire's. However, Slayers have very short lifespans. Due to the nature of their calling, every fight they go in to may be their last. Death is their ultimate end. But their reduced life expectancy may very well be related to their traditions and rules. Buffy is the longest surviving Slayer, and we have seen that she is unconventional, unpredictable and openly defiant of Council rules and regulation. While Kendra, who was trained the traditional way, survived for only less than a year. Coincidentally, in 1997, Vampire Slayer Buffy Summers moved to Sunnydale with her mother Joyce to get her away from her previous school in LA after her parents divorced. You see, under the guidance of a Watcher named Merrick (who had an incredible likeness to a mulleted vamp in a film called Lost Boys), our heroine torched her schools gymnasium during a slayfest against a bunch of overbites. Dont worry; we haven't heard much about any repercussions from the incident or the movie therein. Lets just forget it happened and move on. With the aid of her loyal comrades, Willow, Giles, Xander, Anya, Tara, Spike and her sister Dawn, the Buffster has dispelled many worthy foes including; The Master, the Anointed One, Adam, Faith and Glory. As dedicated as she is, Buffy still tries to find the time to deal with the trivialness of college life. Unfortunately, her love life isnt with frat boys and the like it seems that even after dating the vamp Angel that she might become romantically involved with one William the Bloody. Ones strength can only truly be judged by their conviction and dedication to their calling, their prophecy, their fate and their gift. Proving that she was indeed the truest of Slayers, Buffy Anne Summers gave her life to obstruct evils Glory for the Dawn of our worlds salvation. Although the Slayer lore warned that most Slayers don't live to see 20, Buffy was an exception...but not by much. |

 The Slayerettes... 16 year-old high school sophomore and Vampire Slayer, Buffy Summers, moves from Los Angeles to Sunnydale, California and realizes that she has to continue her Slayer duties because the town is the Hellmouth-a passageway to an evil dimension. She befriends computer geek Willow, average guy Xander, snob Cordelia, her new Watcher, Rupert Giles and a vampire with a soul named Angel. |

 The Love... I LOVE THEM!! Despite what has happend I still think they should end up together! Have Angel's curse made or better yet make Angela human with super strength! Anyways i haaaad to put them in here becouse they are too sweeet! Im sure you will agree! And for those of you who have never watched the show before and have just stumbled onto this part of my site... ^ thats Buffy and ^ thats Angel (short for Angelous) remember if someone ever asks who Buffy should end up with the end SCREAM out ANGEL!! |
